A unified integration platform for field workers
The municipality's field crews ran on fragmented systems — reporting, location, tasks all handled manually. We built an integration platform that pulls every operational thread into one workflow.

Starting point
Municipal operations happen on the ground: cleaning, maintenance, registration, social services, citizen requests. Field staff move around the city during the day and write reports by hand at the end of it. Tasks and reassignments happened over WhatsApp or by phone.
From the administration's perspective, this meant nobody could see what was happening in real time, reports were always a day late, and changes weren't auditable.
Decisions
- One platform + mobile app — field staff log into the system directly from the field, no paper forms.
- Task creation and tracking — admin creates a task in the system, the worker gets a notification.
- Location and status — where someone is, when a task started, when it ended — all visible in the system.
- Citizen request integration — incoming citizen requests are routed to the responsible worker automatically.
Execution
Stack: Laravel backend, Vue.js admin panel, React Native worker app. GPS-based location tracking (only during work hours, in line with privacy rules). Notifications via push + SMS.
“In the public sector, adoption is everything. The mobile app has to be simple — moving someone from paper to phone is already a behaviour change, we shouldn't make it harder.”
Result
- All field staff working in one system — fragmented channels replaced by a single flow.
- Real-time reporting for admin — no more day-late updates.
- Citizen requests go directly to the responsible worker — response time down.
- Mobile app adopted by field staff — paper reporting retired.
