Corporate brand identity around a rebirth theme
Phoenix is a corporate brand with a rebirth narrative — the kind of story that gets clichéd quickly. We delivered an identity that takes the theme seriously without slipping into fire metaphors.

Starting point
The brief came loaded — "rebirth" is a theme designers either lean into too literally or run away from. We did neither: the narrative is there, but the mark and the system don't shout it.
Themed corporate briefs are a known trap. The wrong version of this project would be a logo that looks like a stylised bird and a website full of orange. The right version reads as a serious company that happens to carry a rebirth narrative quietly.
Decisions
- The mark holds the narrative implicitly, not as a literal illustration.
- Palette of restraint — no orange, no flames.
- Typography that signals seriousness without being stiff.
- No flame metaphors anywhere in the system — the narrative is implicit, not literal.
Execution
Delivered as a working brand library with documented principles.
The mark is structural — a glyph that scales cleanly and reads at small sizes without losing identity.
“Themed corporate briefs are a trap. The right version of rebirth is implicit; the wrong version is a flame logo.”

Result
- An identity that earns the rebirth narrative without spelling it out.
- System the team extends without falling into the obvious traps of the theme.
- Brand reads as corporate-grade — the rebirth narrative is felt, not announced.
